The ABC's of mechanics - oh how we only wish it were that easy! Once the truck as finished, Eric spent two days with Matt, going over the truck with a fine tooth comb to understand the basics of how she operates and what to do when we get ourselves in a quandary. We've got the basics covered, but have also come to the conclusion that he will just have to be on the Satellite Phone speed dial if we are in a dire situation! It's important to understand the basics of how your vehicle operates, not only for daily maintenance or to and repair it yourself (when possible), but to also understand and be aware of what any bush mechanic may try to do to your vehicle when you have to take it in for servicing. Then again - we did buy a Land Cruiser, not a Land Rover because we didn't want to spend all of our time under the truck making repairs! Just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!
